We had a lovely time playing games at The Edge this Friday. I myself grabbed a Todd’s Grilled and a glass of sweet tea, and then settled in for an evening of three great board games, Carcassonne, Coup, and Paperback!
We knew we had about an hour before our last guy arrived so we kicked things off with a game of Carcassonne. Carcassonne is a classic and gets a lot of play from me. I have several of the expansions but we played a base vanilla game because we were introducing it to a new player and we wanted to keep things short.
After that we had a few more minutes to kill so we played 3 or 4 rounds of Coup. Coup is one of my favorite filler games. It’s a micro game in every sense of the word with a play time that is literally just a few minutes.
Our last guy arrived and brought a brand new game so we settled in for a game of Paperback. This game is like Dominion meets Scrabble. You build your deck of letters and try to spell the best words to get more letters. It was also the only game I remembered to grab a picture of so this post is image light. Next week will be better!
A group of friends and I game every week at The Edge coffee house. Check out the upcoming events for details. We hope to see you there!
